Managed Community
At the core of the Xandros Server architecture is the Xandros Managed Community. The Managed Community revolutionizes server management by integrating multiple independent servers into a “community” of loosely coupled servers that are aware of one another and the services they are each running. At the center of the Managed Community architecture is the Community Management Server, which coordinates the information sharing between servers and hosts shared network-based user accounts across all servers.
The Community Management Server identifies interdependencies among services and applies workflow automation to manage them. For example, if an administrator adds a virtual Web site to one Xandros Server, Xandros Server checks for a DNS service running within the Managed Community. If a DNS service is found to be running on any server within the managed community (even if it is not the same server on which the Web site is being set up), a graphical message automatically notifies and prompts the administrator to generate the required DNS entries.

The Xandros Managed Community integrates all of your Xandros Servers into a cooperative network. Using the Xandros Management console, administrators can remotely log in to the Community Management Server to manage the entire community of servers.
