Andreas Typaldos, CEO
Andreas Typaldos has guided the emergence of Xandros from desktop Linux provider to that of a leader in netbook, messaging, digital marketplace, and cross-platform management solutions. He is a 30-year technology veteran and entrepreneur and founder of Axs-One (formerly Computron), a global software firm supplying Fortune 500 companies with financial services, financial applications, workflow, and data-management applications. Mr. Typaldos is a principal founder of a broad spectrum of companies in the internet infrastructure, broadband, SMS and mobile transactions, technology enabling, instant messaging, and compliance software spaces. He was an early investor through Linux Global Partners in Ximian, Xandros, and CodeWeavers, and is currently Chairman/Managing Member of Enikia, a state-of-the-art system-on-a-chip semiconductor company focused on delivering broadband and multi-media distribution over electrical power lines.
Mr. Typaldos has a Bachelors Degree from Columbia University in Mathematical Methods for Engineering and Operations Research, and a Masters in Computer Science from Pratt Institute.
Larry Kettler, Xandros VP of Business Development
Larry Kettler is responsible for digital marketplace, OEM, and related business developments. He is an experienced technology professional with over 20 years of hands-on success in the software, consumer electronics, Web 2.0, Linux, personal computer, Internet, open source, collaboration, and computer telephony fields.
Larry came to Xandros through the acquisition of Linspire, Inc., where he served as President & CEO and guided and managed the company’s business strategy. Prior to assuming that position he was Linspire’s Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing.
James Largotta, Director of Sales & Marketing, Latin America
James Largotta has more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership and advisory positions with several major IT firms. He co-founded SKCS, a New York-based firm that became a multi-million dollar leader in global technology services and solutions with key technologies in internet and enterprise security. After selling SKCS to SSI in 2000, he became SSI COO of the Americas where he oversaw sales, resource management, cooperative marketing, and c-selling.
Mr. Largotta has held senior level advisory roles at firms involved in natural language search technologies, middleware, storage allocation, and an enterprise single sign on firm acquired by RSA.
As Xandros Director of Sales & Marketing, Latin America, he has established Xandros a major player in the enterprise Linux market for that region. Mr. Largotta is a frequent contributor to trade publications and is the author of a patent in asset valuation and allocation.
Pascal Lauria, VP of Sales & Marketing EMEA & APAC
Pascal Lauria is responsible for Xandros sales in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. He has over 12 years of IT business development and marketing experience, and has been a key player in recent OEM deals and acquisitions.
Pascal comes to Xandros from Scalix Corporation, where he successfully initiated and developed their European, Middle Eastern and African sales, developed partnerships with IBM Europe and other major industry players, opened the European headquarters, and established Scalix as the leading Linux alternative to Microsoft Exchange.
Before joining Scalix, Pascal was the EMEA Sales Manager for Samsung SDS Europe, where he established Samsung as the Unix groupware leader, and the only Unix/Linux groupware solution recommended by the German Ministry of Internal Affairs. Prior to that, Pascal was the European Sales Manager for Gensoft ITT Telecomunication, a leader in unified messaging and mobile technology, and European Account Executive at Ulead Systems, Taipei, Taiwan.
Pascal holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg. He is fluent in German, English, and Italian, and intermediate in Mandarin Chinese.
Heather MacIntosh, Vice President, Global Marketing
Heather is responsible for global marketing for all Xandros divisions. She brings more than 20 years in technology marketing experience at both start-up and established companies in software and telecommunications, using a results-oriented approach. Prior to joining Xandros, she held senior marketing positions at Cloakware, a software security company, where she raised the visibility of the company, contributing to its acquisition by Irdeto in 2007. She has also held product management, product marketing, communications and business development roles at NetManage, TMI Communications (now SkyTerra), Telesat and Unisys. Heather holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Honors, from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
Ming Poon, Senior VP of Product Development & COO
Ming Poon directs Xandros’ product strategies, manages the R&D teams globally, and oversees the day to day operations across all the divisions. His pioneering vision led him to found the Corel LINUX Project in February 1999, which led to the creation of the world’s first commercial Linux Desktop. Following the successful launch of Corel LINUX OS, Ming was in charge of all five of Corel’s Linux software development teams.
As Xandros Sr. VP of Product Development, Ming’s vision is to make powerful and complex “geek” technologies accessible to consumers and corporate users alike. He fostered user-friendly desktop and server solutions that seamlessly make Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments interoperate with each other, and is now extending that vision to cross-platform management tools for managing today’s heterogeneous enterprise environments.
His engineering vision led to a custom OEM solution for the Asus Eee PC, helping to launch the Netbook revolution. The same vision led to the successful creation of BridgeWays Management Packs for Microsoft System Center and Xandros Management Console for Red Hat server which promise to usher in a new era of single-pane-of-view cross-platform system administration. Ming also led the strategic acquisition of Scalix and Linspire/CNR where he is now applying his engineering expertise to guide these two product lines into the overall Xandros vision.
Prior to becoming the founding member of Xandros, Ming served as Senior Software Development Manager for Corel Corporation. He also has extensive software development experience from low level device driver programming in assembly language to high volume client server applications, complex GUI applications, database server, and video/audio conferencing applications in C/C++, Java, and .NET environments across various platforms and varied industries. Ming holds a Bachelor of Applicationlied Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a Management Science option from the University of Waterloo in Canada.
