Xandros Ramps Up Distribution of Easy-to-Use Linux Products to Retail Channel
Channel Sources brings Xandros to Ingram Micro, Navarre and other National Distributors
October 17, 2005
NEW YORK, NY — Xandros, the leading developer of easy-to-use Linux alternatives to Windows, and Channel Sources, the predominant sales and marketing organization representing leading software publishers and hardware manufacturers, announced today an agreement to deliver Xandros desktop and server products to retail customers throughout the United States and Canada. The agreement makes Xandros products available through Ingram Micro, Navarre and other national distributors. This strategic move is in response to growing customer demand for products that combine the security and stability of Linux together with Windows-like ease of use.
“We’re seeing a remarkable upsurge of interest in alternative operating systems and we are excited about Xandros’ products since they integrate well with existing Windows environments, providing a natural migration path to Linux,” said Tom Fitzsimons, Executive Vice President of Channel Sources. “Xandros products are secure and stable, plus they’re very easy to use. The result is high consumer satisfaction at a low cost, giving Microsoft a run for their money.”
“Channel Sources provides the connections and resources for Xandros to break open the market for our Linux products and put them in the hands of everyday users,” said Andreas Typaldos, Xandros CEO. “Establishing our desktop in the channel today will pave the way for the introduction of our latest Xandros server next spring.”
