James Largotta, Director of Sales & Marketing, Latin America

James Largotta has more than 20 years experience in managing and growing businesses in the technology industry. Over the past two decades, he has held senior leadership and advisory positions with several firms in the IT industry.

As co-founder, of SKCS, a systems integration and software development firm, James created multi-regional sales and marketing relationships with companies such as Dow Jones Telerate, MarketVision, Legato and Microsoft.

James turned his New York start-up into a multi-million dollar leader in providing technology services and solutions to the financial services industry worldwide. Under his guidance, SKCS created programs like “Windows on Wall Street”, creating opportunities for the adoption of Microsoft products in the Financial Services Industry. SKCS also developed key technologies in internet and enterprise security, some of which were spun-off into stand-alone successful business entities focused on IT security, IT storage, and IT asset valuation. He is also the author of a patent in asset valuation and allocation.

In 2000, James sold SKCS to SSI, (a publicly traded Indian software company), and stayed on as COO of the Americas for SSI. During his tenure with SSI, James oversaw two acquisitions to round out SSI’s offering and increase its footprint in the Americas by over 200 engineers.

In addition, James has held senior level advisory roles at Sumitomo Bank, Credit Suisse First Boston, Morgan Stanley, Talarian (acquired by Reuters), Invio Software (acquired by Veritas), and Securant Technologies (acquired by RSA).

His current role at Xandros as Managing Director of Latin America and the Caribbean, has positioned Xandros as a leader in the Latin American enterprise Linux market.

James is a frequent contributor to trade publications. James has attended New York University for International Business Studies. He is fluent in English, Portuguese and conversational Spanish.
