Xandros Expands Global Distribution Network

European and Australian Partners Prepare for Version 2 Launch of the Xandros Desktop OS

New York, December 2, 2003 – Xandros, Inc., the leading developer of innovative Linux solutions for the desktop market, today announced four new European and Australian – New Zealand partners in a continuing expansion of its international sales channel. Four new distributors will cover a wide swath of Europe including Germany and Scandinavia, plus Australia and New Zealand. All the distributors are ready to roll out version 2 of the Xandros Desktop OS on December 16th.

Werner Dobbeck of LxPN, another German Xandros partner that delivers Linux products to around 80 vendors and 5,000 resellers in Germany and Europe, eagerly awaits the arrival of the latest version of the Xandros Desktop OS. "Xandros Desktop 2 with its new kernel, KDE, disc burning, and many other features will set a new standard for open desktop computing that makes for a truly liberating experience. Xandros is one hot new product."

Likewise, Bjarke Alling, CEO of Liga LinDist, the Danish-based Linux distributor, sees a major role for the Xandros Desktop in the IT strategies of many businesses and organizations. "I am looking forward to introducing the Xandros Linux desktop into the Nordic Countries. A change in the desktop scene is absolutely needed, and with Xandros there finally exists a user-friendly replacement to software from Apple and Microsoft."

Xandros has also teamed up with AKA Technology, a leading IT distribution group in Australia and New Zealand with offices and distribution centers in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Auckland. More than 70 retailers of Xandros Desktop OS have already been signed up in Australia alone, and AKA Tech is rolling out version 2 of the Xandros Desktop OS with a large ad campaign and the distribution of around 100,000 trial version CDs.
