The Xandros Management Console (xMC)
xMC is Xandros’ tool for administrators to configure and manage their Xandros Servers (both physical and virtual). xMC is all-graphical and provides a familiar and intuitive interface for both Linux and Windows administrators. Designed for Windows administrators without Linux management experience, xMC provides a similar user experience to the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) and allows Windows administrators to manage Linux Servers without developing new skills.
Run from Anywhere
xMC can be run locally on the server or remotely on almost any Windows (XP or Vista) or Xandros workstation.Problem Prevention Not Problem Resolution
xMC notifies administrators when a configuration change to one service will affect any other service running on a server within the managed community, and prompts the administrators to make the corresponding changes to that second service as well. This powerful benefit helps administrators prevent configuration problems before they can occur.Single Management Interface
Managing all local and remote servers within the Managed Community, xMC reduces the complexities of administering multiple services using multiple tools.Role-Based Administration
xMC allows administrators to manage every server, service, application and plug-in within the managed community. To control access to servers and plug-ins, the Xandros Server includes role-based administration. Administrators and Administrative groups can be given permission to manage specific servers or specific plug-ins. When an administrator logs in to the managed community with xMC, he will only see the servers and plug-ins to which he has permissions to manage. This powerful benefit enables companies to delegate management authority without compromising security.
