Installing Additional Scalix Licenses

Download Your license file from Scalix

Create and download a license file from the Scalix Web site. This license file will be used in Scalix Xandros Edition and unlocks your newly purchased Premium user licenses.

To download the license file from Scalix

1. Once you complete your purchase of your additional Scalix licenses, Xandros will send you a confirmation e-mail. Click the link in this e-mail to go the Scalix Web site and update your license file information.

2. Complete the online form, including your e-mail address and all e-mail domain names, then click the Submit button. If you attempt to use a domain name in Scalix that is not registered, the domain will not function.

3. On the next page, enter your name and company name, then click Confirm. A confirmation page loads with your new Scalix license key. You will copy and paste the entire license key to activate your Scalix licenses. The link to the Scalix site to obtain the license key can be used only once, but the information is stored in your account's Order Information.

4. For reference, if you later need to change your e-mail domains, you can do so at https://cls.scalix.com/domain_info.php

 

Activating the licenses in Scalix Xandros Edition

Next, you activate the license file on the Xandros Server computer used for Scalix Xandros Edition. You need to have Scalix Xandros Edition installed and running, as well as have Administrator privileges to the computer on which it is running.

To activate the Premium User licenses

1. In Xandros Server, log in to Xandros Management Console as Administrator.
2. Click Scalix Xandros Edition to access the component.
3. If an Administrator password has not been set, click on Set Password in the I-message.



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Once you have entered an Admin password, click on the License tab from the main Scalix Xandros plug-in node.

6. Copy and paste the entire license key. Be sure to copy everything below the words Scalix License Key. An example follows:

7. Click the Save button.
8. Restart all Scalix services when prompted. The licenses are ready for use.
