C++ Server Software Engineer

Xandros Enterprise Solutions development team in Ottawa is currently looking to fill multiple positions of Software Engineers. To qualify, the following skills are essential:

• Fast learner and strong analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of C++ (minimum 3 years of experience) and Object Oriented programming in general.
• Past experience developing GUI-based applications (using one of the following: KDE/Qt, GTK/GTK+, MFC or Swing).
• Strong Windows 2000/2003 or Linux/UNIX server knowledge.
• In depth networking knowledge.
• Proven track record working in software project and using source versioning system (such as CVS, SourceSafe, Rational ClearCase etc.).

Knowledge and experience with the following technologies is a bonus:

• Samba
• Linux clustering, high availability, and GRID computing
• MMC snap-in development experience
• Server administration experience
• KDE, Qt, Gnome, GTK/GTK+
• Java
• Linux (especially, Debian and RedHat)
• Secure programming principles
• OpenSSL, LDAP
• Shell and perl scripting
• Networking and server knowledge
• Database programming experience
